Peter King Likes Tom Brady, Pies

Peter King has gone to the trouble of ranking all 32 projected starting quarterbacks for 2007. He puts Jeff Garcia in at #22, which is probably a little low in the context of the article. My main problem with the rankings is who he puts above Garcia. Jake Delhomme, Matt Schaub, J.P. Losman and Michael Vick all rank higher than Garcia according to King, which is silly. Delhomme is decent but can't pull a team together without Steve Smith, Schaub hasn't proven anything to anyone yet, Losman has improved but has shown the uncanny knack for choking at critical times (plus he looks too much like Adam Sandler for me to be comfortable with him), and Michael Vick is the coach-killing running back who is the biggest misuse of talent since The Island of Dr. Moreau. No, if these are the guys who are starting for their respective teams this year, Garcia belongs a few notches higher.
King just hates that he's ranking Peyton Manning as #1 over Tom Brady. King has been a remora on Brady's jock since 2001 and can't hide his homerism for even one quarterback-related article, as evidenced by his awarding Brady the sole 10 score for "intangibles". Manning, on the other hand, he gives a 9... same as Drew Brees. If "intangibles" means the ability to impregnate supermodels, then yes. Otherwise, at the very least, Manning is equal to Brady in terms of leadership, knowledge of the game and everything else you can't measure. You've got to wonder if Peter King will announce his own retirement the day after Brady announces his. I can't imagine King's life would have any further meaning without Dreamboat on the field.
