Jon Gruden was not coy or indecisive in any way when addressing the quarterback situation today.

"There's not a lot of controversy in my eyes right now,'' Gruden said. "If you want to catch up to Jeff Garcia, our young quarterbacks have some work to do. Garcia has done a great job from day one, since he's been here.

"He understands the position, he's moved offenses wherever he's been, and right now Jeff Garcia has a big lead, to me, on the quarterback position."

I'm sure I opened my mouth to someone somewhere about how Simms was the man to beat, so if that was you, I apologize. The fans who said Garcia walked in as the man to beat were right all along. I'm going to try and find out if Garcia has just been that good in practice or if Simms has been having Oklahoma flashbacks.
