Chris Colmer Released

The Buccaneers released Chris Colmer last night. I don't have a link for it, but it was on the crawl on NFL Network, so it must be true. Oh, and a side note to NFL Network advertising people: the commercial where the fantasy football guy can't pronounce T.J. Houshmandzadeh's name was pretty funny the first 500 times. Now my only fantasy is to see that guy eaten by wolverines. Please pull this spot. Thank you.

Anyway, Colmer was a third round pick in 2005 and never saw the field. In 2005 he was inactive every game and in 2006 he had a recurrence of Parsonage-Turner Syndrome which put him on injured reserve. And I use "recurrence" because it had come up before. In 2003, Colmer missed his entire season at North Carolina State because of this disease. And yet the Bucs thought a third round pick was a good investment. Then again, the Broncos thought Maurice Clarett was a good risk ten slots later that year, which makes the Colmer pick look positively brilliant by comparison.

See? There's always a sunny side.

I looked for a while and this is the only action shot of Colmer in a Bucs uniform. And he's using his bad arm... see how his hand is taped up? No one saw this coming?
