Read the rest of this story » I had heard that the 2007 DirecTV NFL Quarterback Challenge happened in the Caymans last week, but decided not to say anything about it since it just didn't sound very interesting from a Buccaneer perspective. But my boy Paul (who is British so he doesn't know my calling him "my boy" is a term of endearment and not just me being weird) over at Bucpower.com got a great scoop from a radio guy who lives over there and told us something we all knew was true: Michael Clayton is a nice guy.

Hicks, expendable in Kansas City because he didn’t make enough big plays, but he’s a good fit for Eric Mangini’s defense in New York. Hicks will bring a lot of professionalism to the Jets’ defense with his experience, smarts, and motor.

During this offseason, the Buccaneers have severly limited media access to their OTAs at the practice facility. Whether it was to keep secrets about their formations and plays or just to limit the number of jackasses asking inane questions, the team has reduced the information coming out of their camp to a trickle. But yesterday, the Bucs practiced at Raymond James Stadium and it was wide open to the media. Two and a half hours of practice, 7 on 7s, 11 on 11s, first looks at new guys like Kevin Carter and Cato June. You'd think the Tampa media would be all over it. So, what's the major storyline from this first glimpse into full team offseason practice?

The Bucs worked out at Raymond James Stadium today as they occasionally do during the offseason, and they brought along a few guests: the University of Florida coaching staff.
UF Urban Meyer and some of his staff joined the Bucs in meetings Thursday morning then had a front-row seat for practice. Meyer was joined by co-defensive coordinators Charlie Strong and Greg Mattison, as well as several other members of the staff, each hoping to take something away from the day.

Of course you have. Well my gossip-mongering friends, suffer no more!
