Was Kenny Scott Released? And If So, Do We Care?

Word around town is that the Buccaneers released rookie cornerback Kenny Scott over the weekend. I can't find an article confirming it, so take it as a strong rumor. But if it is true, it has interesting implications for Brian Kelly, who did in fact miss the OTAs last week. If Bruce Allen did release Scott, who was projected by many to be a steal at cornerback, he must be pretty confident that Kelly's contract issues won't turn into an ugly holdout that can't possibly end nicely. Kelly generally hangs out in California when he doesn't absolutely have to be in Tampa, and with this news it's looking more like it will be business as usual for Kelly this season.

But next season... yeah, he's pretty much gone.
