Todd Sauerbrun Is Apologetic

Those of you who are new to the site may not be familiar with the Bucstats.com official jackass, Todd Sauerbrun. Sauerbrun first earned this status when he attacked former Buccaneer kicker Martin Gramatica in the media for... celebrating. After that, each time you heard Sauerbrun's name on the news, it was for some team or NFL violation, further perpetuating his jackassery. Through it all Sauerbrun was obstinate and unpleasant, insisting at each turn that he did nothing wrong.

Until he tested positive for ephedra and was suspended for four games, appealed the suspension, lost said appeal and was cut by his dream team. Then he wasn't so mouthy.

Now, Todd wants to apologize.

"I want to make amends," Sauerbrun said Friday after signing a one-year, $1.4 million contract Friday to return to the team that jettisoned him last October.

"Just immature, stupid, it was dumb," Sauerbrun said. "You learn. If you don't learn from this you don't have many opportunities to learn from. You either learn or you're going to be done. It's simple."

He sounds sincere, right? He sounds like a guy who hit rock bottom and wants one more chance. The article says he's in good shape now, he's humble and ready to work. Todd, you caught me in a forgiving mood this evening, so I accept your apology. I know you forgot to mention me specifically to the media, but I know you were including me in spirit. And to show you that I'm burying the hatchet, I'll include a non-mocking photo of you for the first time in this entry.

All this means, of course, that Bucstats.com needs a few official jackass. Leave any suggestions you may have in the comments.

Jackass no longer. Just watch your mouth, Todd. I've still got my eye on you.
