Shaun King Leaving Las Vegas

After starting 1-5 for the Las Vegas Gladiators, Shaun King was released by the Arena League team yesterday. I'm still not sure if this is more or less humiliating than being released by both the Cardinals and the Lions.

He said he was disappointed that his stint in Las Vegas didn't work out, but said he had been contacted by some NFL teams and might consider another AFL offer. King said he also might consider coaching.

With the total lack of any good free agent quarterbacks now, and given that a few teams have zero quarterback depth, it's not inconceivable that King could find his way into a training camp as the de facto #2. Ever wonder how King would look in a Vikings uniform? You may find out this summer.

Interesting side note: The Gladiators also fired their defensive line coach, a man named Brian Kelly.

This is the only photographic evidence I could find that Shaun King was ever a member of the Las Vegas Gladiators. And notice he's not playing football... he's golfing.
