Bucstats.com First Annual Draft Contest (With Prizes (Seriously!))

Welcome to the Bucstats.com First Annual Draft Contest. I don't have a catchier name for it yet but if you think of one, leave it in the comments. Here's how it works. You predict who the Buccaneers will choose in the upcoming draft. Straightforward enough?

Points are awarded for correctly choosing which players the Bucs will pick. Each pick is worth ten times the round in which they are selected. So, for example, a correct selection in the first round is worth ten points, a correct selection in the second round is worth 20 points, etc. This is because it's much harder to correctly pick players in the later rounds. If you correctly select a player but in the wrong round, you get half the points for that pick. I will also award 100 bonus points if you accurately predict a Buccaneer draft day trade, but you have to include the trading team and what the conditions are. "Jake Plummer to the Raiders for their 2007 fourth rounder" is a legal entry. "The Bucs will trade down in the first round" is not.

Leave your entries in the comments to this blog entry. You must include a valid email address to win, but I will only use it to notify you that you won. One entry per person. The deadline for entries is April 27. The player with the most points wins, ties will be broken by coin flip.

PRIZES!!! I wasn't going to do this if I couldn't get some prizes for your effort. The unbelievably awesome folks at It's Bucs & Bulls Heaven have stepped up to the table to sponsor this contest with a $50 gift card for the first place winner and an official 2007 Buccaneer Draft Day Cap for the runner-up. Big thanks to BucGear.com!

Good luck to everyone, and please spread the word about this contest. If this goes over well, I might be able to do other things like this in the future.

Not everybody has the job security of knowing they could crush their boss with one hand. Must be nice.
